Val di Sole

On Sunday 10 December, the cyclo-cross peloton arrived in beautiful Val di Sole. The women's race was dominated by the Dutch riders. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado initially seemed to ride fastest over the snow, but she was eventually passed by Manon Bakker. Joris Nieuwenhuis made it less exciting among the Men Elite. The Dutchman rode in the lead from start to finish. Both Bakker and Nieuwenhuis took their very first World Cup victory in Val di Sole.
WOMEN ELITE
For the first time in her career, Manon Bakker has won a World Cup race. The Dutch made it in Val di Sole ahead of Alvarado and Pieterse. After seven rounds, Alvarado remains in the lead in the standings. Read more.

There was little in the way of excitement in Val di Sole during the men's race. Joris Nieuwenhuis rode in the lead from start to finish and took his first World Cup race win with an impressive solo. Read more.
