Just like last year, Maasmechelen serves as the penultimate round of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup. In the women's race, we witnessed a true thriller last season. Kata Blanka Vas narrowly held off Zoe Backstedt. Lucinda Brand finished third and secured the overall World Cup victory. In the men's race, Mathieu van der Poel put on quite a show.
