Just like last year, Maasmechelen serves as the penultimate round of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup. In the women's race, we witnessed a true thriller last season. Kata Blanka Vas narrowly held off Zoe Backstedt. Lucinda Brand finished third and secured the overall World Cup victory. In the men's race, Mathieu van der Poel put on quite a show. By bike
Cycling is the fastest way to reach the course. The organisation provides a free bike parking area at the southern entrance, near the French garden of the Terhills Hotel, located at Zetellaan 68 in Maasmechelen. Be sure to bring your bike lock so you can leave your bicycle safely while you enjoy the races.
By public transport
De Lijn buses take you to within 100 metres of the entrance to the course. The best stop to get off at is “Maasmechelen Village”, located close to the riders’ parking area. This stop is served by several different lines. Be sure to plan your journey using De Lijn’s route planner.
By car
Fans travelling by car should take into account strict access routes. Parking is only available at the Lanklaar industrial area. This car park can be accessed exclusively via the E314, exit 32 Genk-East, after which you should follow the “Public Parking” signage via the N75. Access via the E314, exit 33 Maasmechelen, is strongly discouraged due to the expected traffic congestion. In addition, the car parks of Maasmechelen Village and the Terhills Visitor Center will not be available for public parking. Access is therefore only possible via the N75.
