Ambitious Iserbyt wins final round in the USA

An unleashed Eli Iserbyt shredded the competition in the Jingle Cross in Iowa City today on a sun-drenched course. This way he fortified his position in the leader's jersey. Quinten Hermans had mechanical troubles after an error in judgement on the bars, which meant he couldn't get a hold of the leader's jersey today.
In the third round of the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup in Iowa City, the first shift happened when Quinten Hermans (Tormans - Circus Cyclo Cross Team) accelerated. An ambitious Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal) didn't let him go and the two rode together in front for a while.
At the back, the men weren't sitting still either. Michael Vanthourenhout (Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal) and Lars van der Haar (Baloise Trek Lions) made the crossing to the two men in front and in lap 5 also Toon Aerts (Baloise Trek Lions) and Jens Adams could join.
In lap 7 fate struck for Hermans. After an error of judgement on the bars, he fell off his bike and had chain problems. The mechanical problems caused him to lose valuable time, which meant he lost his classification position and potential podium finish for today.
Iserbyt of course took advantage of this. He accelerated again and only Van der Haar could follow at a distance. Iserbyt rode solo over the line after 10 laps, Van der Haar followed him and Vanthourenhout completed the podium. Hermans finished fifth.
