Discover the slightly modified course for the Antwerpen World Cup

On Saturday 20 December, Antwerp will host the fifth round of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup. The course on which Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert will contest their first cyclo-cross duel of the season has been slightly modified compared to previous editions.

As a result, the start and finish straight has been moved to Thonetlaan. This new straight is more than six metres wide, making it easier to move up and choose a position after the start. After around 400 metres, the riders enter the sand for the first time.

Due to this change, the longer sandy sections have also been repositioned on the lap. The course on the Left Bank features two long sandy passages of about 100 metres. The first comes early in the race, but in the opposite direction compared to last year. The second sand section is located halfway through the lap and gives riders the option to ride closer to the water’s edge, allowing them to cover 50 metres on firmer ground.
