Sand sections and park passages: discover the course in Terralba, Sardinia

On Sunday 7 December, the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup will touch down in Terralba, on the Italian island of Sardinia. There, the cyclo-cross peloton will face a fast 3.1-kilometre course where sand sections and park passages alternate.

The start and finish zone is located in the heart of the small village of Marceddì, between the church square, the harbour and the characteristic fishermen’s houses. After a fast start through the village streets and a first passage along the pit area, the riders reach the first sand section. They then dive into the park, where they complete several loops beneath the characteristic stone pines.

After a fast stretch along the Marceddì lagoon, another sand section awaits. Through a second passage at the pit area, the riders return to the park before heading back towards the lagoon once more.

In the final part of the course, the fan zone and the barriers await, followed by a last sand section. Finally, a stairway near the local church leads them onto the last unpaved finishing straight.
