Sunday 02 January 2022

In a dry Hulst, we kicked off 2022 on 2 January with an exciting race for the elite men and a fifteenth victory of the season for Lucinda Brand. Find out how the day went here.

Women Elite

For a moment it seemed youth was on top in Hulst. Puck Pieterse rode solo in front early on in the race and Kata Blanka Vas also impressed with a fast chase. But in the penultimate lap world champion Lucinda Brand was able to cross the line to Pieterse, after which she also won the round. Curious to find out what places the youngsters ended up in? Read all about it here.

Men Elite

On a fast lap, Wout van Aert, who was starting his third and final UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup race of the season, had to contend with technical problems. As a result, he saw his place at the front of the race slip to the tail of the peloton in Hulst. While Wout was fighting for every spot, Pidcock took his chance at the front. He crossed the finish line solo after nine laps. Want to know more?
