Waterloo was the setting for the opening round of the 2023-2024 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup on 15 October 2023. In the Women's Elite catergory, there was no limit to Fem van Empel. The Dutchwoman got to swap her rainbow jersey for the very first leader's jersey in the most important regularity criterium. Among the Men Elite, victory went to Thibau Nys. The young Belgian was victorious for the first time in the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup among the pros.
WOMEN ELITE
